Youngest Zebra Stripe

Hello, my name is Zainab and I am the youngest of three sisters. I am a freshman in high school, and grew up with a chronically ill mom for as long as I can remember. That experience shaped a big part of who I am. My sisters and I had an idea to raise awareness for kids like us, who have a sick parent and don't always have support.

This is why we decided to start Stripes of a Zebra to create an environment for others to feel support and comfort while going through hard times as well. I hope Stripes of a Zebra can help others feel seen, heard, and understood together.

Middle Zebra Stripe

Hi everyone, my name is Madeeha. I’m a freshman at the University of Arizona studying Medicine. I like to read, draw, and be outside in nature. The process of creating Stripes of Zebra was something my sisters and I discussed for a few years before actually settling down to start it.

We wanted to reach out to more people who were the children of the chronically ill. As someone who’s lived with a mother who’s been sick for years, we know that having a support system is a great way to manage and connect to more people.

Eldest Zebra Stripe

Hello, my name is Serene and I am the eldest of 3 sisters. I am a junior at Arizona State University. I am currently studying Computer Science Engineering. My sisters and I have been discussing on creating a website so other children and teens with chronically ill parents can reach out for help. We want to use this space to connect with others who know what it's like for a teen or a child who is chronically ill. We started Stripes of a Zebra so that we can make sure others feel heard through their rough days.
